SAM Clubs
Students Against Melanoma
Our SAM Clubs are a network of middle school, high school, and college students that are committed to educating their communities on the reality of skin cancer and how to effectively prevent it.
These clubs are ran by the students with approval from a teach or administrator. They meet once a month and are provided with The Richard David Kann Melanoma Foundation’s educational resources, schoolwide projects, and contests to participate in like the RDK Kinney Art Contest.
SAM Clubs are designed to educate without being a burden to students or administrators. If you know a school that may be a good fit for this program, please contact us below. Thank you.

Sunscreen
Dispensers
Mike Schmidt’s Skin Cancer Prevention Initiative aims to directly protect the people in and around the city of Philadelphia with public sunscreen dispensers. These eco-friendly, weather resistant, non-battery operated, dispensers hold a 2 liter reservoir of SPF 30 sunscreen from Stream2Sea that is skin and environment safe.
Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies has been completely outfitted with these dispensers so that fans can stay protected during day games this spring and summer. We are continuing to strategically place these dispensers throughout the city in parks, schools, public pools, sport complexes, tourist destinations and other popular outdoor venues. We’ve got you covered if you leave the sunscreen at home!

King of Prussia Mall
Sun Safety PSA
The Philadelphia Phillies have come together with Mike Schmidt to hit an absolute homerun with a PSA designed to advocate sun safety throughout the King of Prussia Mall during the spring and summer of 2023. Thanks to the Phillies, we were able to outfit the entire mall with floor stands, large banners, and sunscreen dispensers to ensure patrons are educated and protected when it comes to the sun’s UV rays. Each entrance to the mall will have a dispenser with QR codes directing folks to this website so they can learn more.
With the simple message of “keep your skin safe from the sun”, we will be able to communicate our life saving message to a larger number of people.
Thank you to John Middleton and the
