The United States has the third highest rate of skin cancer in the world with almost one in five developing some form of skin cancer during their lives. Important Points to Remember

Best treatment is PREVENTION!
Sunscreens are essential! Apply it correctly!!! 30 minutes before going out. Wear sunscreen with UVA/UVB protection. Always wear sunscreen with SPF (Sun Protection Factor) 30 or higher, and reapply every 2 to 3 hours. Protect your lips too. Clothing is great protection. Long sleeve shirts and pants. It also gives us a third type of radiation that we can neither see nor feel: ultraviolet radiation. Ultraviolet (UV) radiation can seriously threaten our health. After extensive review of health education literature, the Foundation selected the successful SunSmart curricula from Australia on which to base its many programs and adapt to local educational standards and environment.
